Bad Arolsen is located on the German Timber-Frame Road in the central region – stretching from the Weserbergland through northern Hesse to the Vogelsberg and Spessart mountains. Under the motto "Timber-Framed Connects," nearly 100 timber-framed towns have now joined forces to educate all interested visitors about the significance of this fascinating architectural style. The Baroque Bad Arolsen Residence Palace is considered a landmark of the town of Bad Arolsen and invites you to take guided tours. Take a historical tour of Bad Arolsen and be inspired by a young town with a long tradition. Visit the Christian Daniel Rauch Museum or his birthplace, the Kaulbachhaus Museum, and the Schreibersches Haus Museum. Stroll through the tree park (formerly the "Boskett" palace park), which was created after the completion of the palace construction and planted with a variety of plants, primarily exotic conifers. Tour the new palace, built as a widow's residence for Christiane by master builder Franz Friedrich Rothweil from 1764 to 1778 and featuring a Rococo interior.

Take a break at the "Schloßbrunnen" healing spring – a calcium-magnesium-sulfate spring – drilled in 1972/73 at a depth of approximately 400 meters in the castle park. The healing water regulates gastric juices, stimulates intestinal function, eliminates gallbladder and liver dysfunction, and is ideal for restoring general well-being in cases of digestive disorders. Stroll through romantic half-timbered districts with their numerous historic houses, then stop off at a cozy café or restaurant.

Enjoy the Bad Arolsen Baroque Festival. This annual festival, which draws attention beyond Germany, brings the spirit of the Baroque era to life in the ambiance of the former residence of the Princes of Waldeck and Pyrmont. A feast for the eyes and ears, it presents a significant European musical scene each year, thus breathing life into the European ideal. The Bad Arolsen Theater – Culture Center offers a year-round cultural program – theater, music, cinema, and exhibitions. Palace concerts, spa concerts, the Baroque Festival, the International Youth Music Festival, the Little Museum Night, the "Autumn Notes" wine festival, and the Christmas market.
